Invest in Sorrel
By making a socially responsible, ethical investment in Sorrel Housing Co-operative you will be helping to provide capital for people starting up community-led housing in Bristol.
We are at an exciting moment for Sorrel. There are currently a lot of promising options on the table. We are in detailed discussion with Bristol Community Land Trust, Co-operative and Community Finance, Ecology Building Society, Bristol City Council, and other lenders.
As we work out the best approach to secure the funding we need to purchase a property, it would make a big difference to our ability to produce accurate financial models and in the process gain the trust of partners and financers, if we could have in writing pledges that outline details of loanstock: how much, at what interest, and for how long.
This is not an official application of commitment or binding agreement, it is simply a pledge in writing.
A reminder that the lower the interest rate and the longer the loan, the more viable the financing of Sorrel becomes. An investment in Sorrel is an investment in long-term, secure, democratically-controlled, affordable housing in Bristol.
